Itinerary:

Day 1:  Leave Nairobi and Arrival in Tanzania (Moshi)

Our transfers will pick you from your hotel or from the airport for your transfer to board a plane to Tanzania where you will check in at the hotel and overnight.

Day 2: Machame Gate to MChame Camp – Approximately 11 kilometers (7 miles). 

The Machame Gate to Machame Camp route is one of the most popular trekking routes on Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. This route is known for its scenic beauty and is often referred to as the “Whiskey Route” (in contrast to the easier “Coca-Cola Route,” the Marangu route). The Machame Route is considered more challenging due to its steeper ascents and varied landscapes, but it offers trekkers a more immersive experience and better chances of acclimatization. The trek from Machame Gate to Machame Camp marks the start of your Kilimanjaro adventure, offering a combination of lush rainforest, beautiful views, and the physical challenge of a steady ascent. This portion of the route gives you a taste of what’s to come — both the beauty and challenges of the mountain — and sets the stage for further climbs toward higher camps. Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp- approximately 5 to 7 kilometers (3 to 4.5 miles),

The trek from Machame Camp to Shira Camp is the second day on the Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. This section of the climb is essential for both acclimatization and continued exploration of the diverse landscapes on the mountain. After the first day’s ascent from Machame Gate to Machame Camp, the trek to Shira Camp takes you to higher altitudes, giving you a better sense of the mountain’s various ecosystems and the challenges that lie ahead. The trek from Machame Camp to Shira Camp is a significant part of the Machame Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers a mix of moderate difficulty, beautiful landscapes, and crucial acclimatization time. Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp- approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles)

The trek from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp is an exciting and significant portion of the Machame Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. This section of the trek takes you through varying landscapes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It's also an important part of the acclimatization process, as you gain significant altitude before descending to the Barranco Valley, a critical point for both rest and further acclimatization. The trek from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp is an important part of the Machame Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers both physical challenges, including the climb to Lava Tower and descent into the Barranco Valley, as well as excellent opportunities for acclimatization.  Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp- approximately 9 to 10 kilometers (5.5 to 6 miles).

The trek from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp is one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of the Machame Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. This section takes you through some stunning terrain, including the famous Barranco Wall, and climbs significantly in elevation as you ascend toward the high-altitude Barafu Camp, which serves as a critical base camp for summiting Kilimanjaro. The trek from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp is one of the most exciting and challenging segments on the Machame Route of Mount Kilimanjaro. Day 6: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, then Descend to Mweka Camp-Approximate 13 kilometers (8 miles).

Summit Day on Mount Kilimanjaro is the pinnacle of your trekking journey, and it’s both an exhilarating and grueling experience. The trek from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (the summit) and then descending to Mweka Camp is the final push that will test your endurance, determination, and mental strength. Summit Day on Mount Kilimanjaro is a monumental experience, involving a long, exhausting ascent to Uhuru Peak and a descent to Mweka Camp. It’s the culmination of days of hard work, perseverance, and acclimatization. However, it’s also a physically demanding day that requires preparation, pacing, and focus. Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate ( Moshi)- Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).

The trek from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate is the final leg of your Mount Kilimanjaro climb, marking the end of your adventure. This section is primarily a descent through the lush forest, and although it’s physically easier than the summit day, it can still be tough on your knees and feet after the challenging climb to the top. The trek from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate is a scenic and manageable descent that marks the final chapter of your Mount Kilimanjaro adventure. Although the descent can be tough on the body, it’s a relatively straightforward and rewarding final stage. As you descend through Kilimanjaro’s beautiful rainforest and lower slopes, you’ll have a chance to reflect on the incredible achievement of reaching the summit. Reaching Mweka Gate is an exciting and emotional moment, and you’ll leave the mountain with a deep sense of accomplishment and memories to last a lifetime.

Day 8: Tanzania to Nairobi 

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi.
